Traveling there in Sept and would like to visit some shaving shops/barbers in the area. Anyone know of any?

Art of Shaving on L between 18 and Connecticut, which is right across the street from the Grooming Lounge. B&BW is in Pentagon City mall.
There's also an Art of Shaving in Union Station mall. I can't think of any other shaving stores that come to mind.

+1 to all of the above. There's an AOS shop in the Pentagon City in addition to the one on 18th and L and the one in Pentagon City Mall. I work right by the one on 18th and L and forever tried to see if they'd have a barber and for about 8 months they couldn't get the right permits. I gave up checking but it's possible they might now have a barber there. There's definitely one at the Union Station shop as the one on 18th sent me to the one there.
I've never gotten a straight shave by a barber here so I wouldn't be able to recommend barbers around the area. Yelp might be able to give you some recommendations but I never saw anything that was above and beyond the rest that I absolutely had to try.

18th and L certainly does now have a barber who gives straight shaves, but I have never had a shave from him (or any barber for that matter). Grooming Lounge DOES NOT use straights for their shaves (they use a BS mach3), so don't bother, but they do have a nice selection of quality shaving merch.
