Washer for Fatboy

Hey,

I just ordered a Fatboy on ebay, it's in pretty good condition but is missing the black washer just below the number dial. I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a particular kind of washer that can be used as a replacement, or if I should just look around.

Thanks for any responses.

The seller said it was missing a washer at the TTO dial, I didn't see it, so I asumed it was the black ring at the top. I suppose the washer I need is from the bottom of the razor.

Bob is right. In my humble experience, it is not something that can be replaced, on the other hand, it isn't something that affects the shave at all, so enjoy the Fat, er, wait, must be PC, The Not So Slim Boy when you try it ..

I don't think there are any washers that might go missing. Does the razor work? If so, I would call it good.

Well, I double checked the listing and the seller calls it a "stabilizing part." I don't know what that exactly means.

I guess I'll find out more when I recieve it.

Might have a worn retaining ridge that keeps the TTO knob in the barrel of the razor. When this get worn the knob can be pulled from the bottom of the razor when the razor is opened, the ill informed think there was a snap/retaining ring that held the knob in and that it's missing.

Interesting.

Is there any way to fix it?

Maybe, I fix a Senator that had this problem.
After disassembling the razor I mounted the razor handle and head in my lathe, I ran the lathe in reverse and pressed a round nosed tool bit into the groove in the handle increasing the size of the internal ridge enough so that the knob could be snapped back into the handle and retained.

Hum, sounds like an idea.

Thanks.
