Wash (and shrink) a denim jacket?

I just bought a denim jacket that's a little large; it's a nice fit, only the sleeves are a little long. I'm wondering if it would shrink a little if I washed (and dried) it. Since I got it used at a thrift store, it'd be kind of nice to wash it anyway.

Thoughts?

Wear it in a hot bath, thats how you shrink fit denim.

if it is used it may be already shrunk all it is going too...
but there is really nothing to lose for the effort
and all you may get is a clean jacket

wash it in HOT and dry it HOT
