Was This Hoffritz the same as the Merkur 34C?

The head of the razor and case are in great shape but the handle was heavily patinaed
brass so I stripped it down to brass. Was this model based on the Merkur 34C?

It is a Merkur, 100% identical except for the marking.

Yep, @romsitsa has it right.

Merkur made razors branded as Hoffiritz, Coles, Pomco, Bartali and others. There is also some evidence to suggest they took over Fasan's Double Slant and at least made some parts for the Wahlbusch B5. All the company records pre-1996 have disappeared, so all we really have is suggestive evidence with no confirmation. The case is a lot clearer with razors like the Merkur 34 or 37, as they are still made so we can put them side by side.
