i have never seen the short handle until recent and was wondering if thats the only year it was made

No, it was made other years too. I am not sure if it runs the whole range of superadjustable years or not, but it was made at least up until 1974 since I have one of those here.

i may have to pick one up, i dont like long handles so i sold my gold super adjustable i had
I PIFed a 69 model to a friend, so that makes it a five year run at least!
