wanted to share my score on some Bodum stuff with the Cafe board

I just went into a JC Penny here in Raleigh, and found that they are closing out all their Bodum appliances. I walked out with a Double Wall Electric Kettle and a Vaccum Pot and spent less than $50! Not sure if this is everywhere, so YMMV. i did notice that there's no bodum stuff on their website, however.

They had all kinds of stuff still:

French Press/boiler combos, large 12 cup french presses (this is what i usually make my coffee in, its great for big cups when studying late), even the B-Over was on sale for something under 80 bucks. there was a bunch of other stuff too.

I've never had coffee from a vaccum pot before, but ive heard good things. how do you grind for it?

Good shopping tip. I was just reading a related article about JCP: 19 Sad Photos That Show A Dying JCPenney. So maybe they are trying to boost sales.

I believe you will have to experiment with the grind, maybe start out with auto-drip size and back off if the filter clogs.

I've noticed a lot of Bodum Pebos siphon pots up for sale real cheap. Usually when that happens Bodum is dumping the product from their line up.

I've used a Cona Standard for decades so even at the bargain basement prices the Pebos pots are going for I think I will stick with my old friend.

It's all over. Even here in IL. All bodum is 60-80% off. Coffee stuff, mixers, cups, kitchen utensils. The works. I work for JCPenney....do you know how hard it is to walk past all that 80x a day and not load up a cart!

I believe this weekend or next weekend there will be an additional 25% off all clearance. But don't quote me on that. Not 100% sure

I told my girlfriend about this thread/sale last night. We went to JCP to check it out. I walked out with a trunk full of stuff. Mostly coffee, plus a toaster and some ceramic knives and a knife holder. All bodum. $755.68 worth of stuff for $178.58. Total discount of $577.10.
She had a good haul also. Don't worry. We left some for you.
