Want a second/travel brush

Hi there!

I´m looking for att travel brush/second brush that i can use with the Muhle travel tube.

when i travel i like to face lather with Palmolive stick.

My present brush is a silvertip "private label" and want a complement.

I mostly use soaps.
I don´t wanna pay more than $20.
Maybe a boar...?

Tnx in advance!

I'd say go for a boar brush. I just bought my cousin an Omega 10275 from WCS for about 10 bucks. I went ahead and started prepping it for him and after a lather or two, it only took a couple of hours to completely dry. In fact, it dries a lot quicker than my Rooney 3/1 super. I actually contemplated keeping it, but got myself a 81052 instead. And for size reference, it's the same size as a Rooney 3/1, and the plastic handle makes it really light.

I love the way my 81052 lathers. I've used it with my Speick stick and it feels great on my face. It has definitely broken in a lot quicker than the 10275 I prepped for my cousin, but it's still dense enough to massacre any soap I throw at it. Lately I've been using creams with it, and it still lathers like a dream. The only negative thing about it, in my opinion, is the light plastic handle. It really doesn't have a lot of heft to it, but the handle has great comfortable contours for a good grip. Then again my SBAD has kicked in and now I'm looking at the 31025 which has a hefty resin handle and a higher loft than the 81052. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these Omegas :001_smile

I have personally never understood these travel brush posts. I travel alot, all over the place, be it inter state or the otherside of the world I take two brushes out of my stash. Why use something different to what you would use at home?

You might want to look into a Nylon brush. The 2 main benefits for traveling are that they are typically low end, inexpensive brushes so if you forget and leave it behind it is not a big $ loss; and second since it is nylon it will dry out faster.

I use something like this as my travel brush

Which can be found here:

To be clear this is utilitarian brush, the bristles are very floppy but after 5 or 6 swirls a good lather will start to build. When traveling I take a tube of shaving cream and squirt enough to cover the tips, so it is very easy to use. The brush is so floppy that I thought it would not work on soaps, but I tried MWF once and it built a later fine, I think it was due to the way the tips more easily scratch the surface of the soap cake which compensated for their flop.

Personally I usually just toss a brush in my kit too, but to each his own.

That being said I do have a Wee Scot on the way...

I just need an adeqvat brush which is medium or small, suitable for face lathering and quite cheap.
