Wallets

I've used The Money Clamp for a couple of years. I carry it in my front pocket. The leather "wallet" that comes with it holds 6 credit cards and my drivers license, plus a few business cards and such. I'll never carry a regular wallet again.

Because of my current job situation (unemployed), when my wallet fell aaprt, I decided to make one out of duct tape. I bought a roll of black duct tape for about $5. (I didn't want a silver wallet.) At 60 yards per roll you can experiment and practice many times for cheap money.

I was very surprised -- although it's not the classiest looking wallet, it IS incredibly thin. With money, license and credit cards, it is still thinner than my old wallet was when empty.

I must be old and out of style. When I wear a suit or a jacket I've always carried a slim leather bifold breast wallet that fits in an inside jacket pocket. Unfolded cash on one side, cards on the other.

I leave the wallet at home when I can. I carry some folded cash and my housekeys in my front pants pockets when I'm not using the car or needing a card.

When I have no choice I use a slim bi-fold wallet, sometimes in the front pocket, sometimes in my back pocket depending on the pants. Since I've retired I've gotten rid of half my cards. Still carry the Crackberry for some unknown reason though .

I have a stainless steel bi-fold. Was always busting out of leather wallets, then tried a cheesy ballistic nylon thingy from Wal-Mart, but then I found that they are making wallets out of very finely woven strands of stainless steel. I bought mine from Amazon, it is very tough, and has enough room for all of the junk I seem to carry.

Does it destroy your jeans though?

This makes me wonder if there are carbon fiber wallets. They'd look great.

edit: Of course there are...I like this:

I normally use one of the two wallets depending on the situation.
Long wallet is better when wearing a suit, only need to take license, ATM card and cash. When in the jacket pocket you cannot tell that it is there.
The tri-fold one I carry when at work, or casual. Tri-fold has the benefit of carrying additional cards but is thicker.

At the moment I have 7 plastic cards, 5 business cards and cash stored in there. As you can see the cards have made an impression and the colour is slightly faded, otherwise nothing to report.
