Walkin Horse Bridle or Split Steer Hide?

I am suffering from a bout of strop AD at the moment and am considering either the Walkin Horse Bridle or Split Steer Hide.
I have a Kanayama #60000 and a Scrupleworks Horween Oil Tanned on order which will come in the next few weeks but want to buy a 'beater' strop. I currently use a Whipped Dog poor man strop as my daily strop and have a Herold travel strop that I have yet to even remove from the wrapper. Am I crazy?
Anyways, my question is which of the 2 will give me a completely different feeling to the 2 I already have on order?

I think the split steer is more if a dry tannes leather, right? If it is, the draw on it will likely be very different compared to the oil tanned hides you have now.

The urge to get another strop is never crazy! I have a split side Walkin Horse that I am really enjoying. Very much like stropping on firm velvet and it is a gorgeous piece of leather.

It seems that the split hide gets more reviews than bridle so that's what I just ordered. :thumbup:
To clarify, I already have the Kanayama in hand and love the feel of that however maybe due to using the poor man strop a lot, I find the draw of the Kanayama too smooth but I'm sure if I used it exclusively for a while will come to accept that as the norm.
anyways thanks to you guys I've got the WH Split hide strop coming soon. Now the only grail strop left for me is a Tony Miller strop.

I have both the English Bridle and Split Hide from WH. The Split Hide will give you a different appearance and feel. It's a beautiful piece of cream colored leather. The color resembles Tony Miller premium steerhide. The draw is light for cowhide, and it's a unique feel. It feels like velvet or suede. I definitely prefer it over the English Bridle.

Cannot wait to explore another (English Bridle).

~~~I have a battle scarred 3" English Bridle Leather from Walkin' Horse that is a superlative strop to use. I reach for it most of the time. Needless to say, I recommend it highly. FWIW, I've used a kana (still ahve it), 3 of Tony's, others...they're all nice but my all time favorite is the one I mentioned at the top of this reply
