What's new

Waiting....

So, I just got my new razors in the mail and I just started cleaning then. I'm pretty excited :tongue_sm, only problem is that I have an interview on Saturday so I can't use them for fear of how my face will react to them. Has anyone else experienced the razor-wait as well?

I think the excitement and anticipation of a new razor can lead to one to over react on the first couple of shaves. Its almost like a kid with a new toy, he'll play and tinker with it until something goes wrong. Same thing with a new razor, you'll just keep using it and trying things you don't normally do. Once you get over the newness and use your normal technique and routine, things settle down.

It might not be a bad idea to wait until after your interview to "play" with the new razors. Until then just shave with the razors that the "shine" has worn off.

Good luck on the interview. :thumbup1:

Regards,

Paul

I've delayed using new blades, aggressive vintage DE models and a shiny straight prior to scheduled events for fear of inflicting harm so yes, I've been there. Good luck on your interview!

The interview went pretty well, thanks for the wishes =) and now that some of the shine has worn off I can try out some of these new guys =P

When I first started, I had to look at my new goodies for a while because I was not allowed to shave for six weeks per doctor's orders. It was a horrible thing to sit and wait.

I guess the anticipation is so great, I usually wind up nicking myself with new razors. Now new razors get a time-out for a week or so until the novelty and excitement wears off.

I waited a few weeks for my Valentine's Day "gift" of a Merkur 34C, my first DE razor. It was my most anticipated gift in years....possibly more than a decade! I thought I would carve myself up, but things went very well. I'm still waiting for my 5 o'clock shadow to sprout at 12:27 am!

Glad to hear it went well. The Merkurs are amazing shavers. What kind of brush/soap/cream did you use?
