Wade & Butcher Safety Razor Blades on A Counter Top Display

"Look what I found"
I don't normally buy vintage blades, but could not pass this up. Wade & Butcher double edge blades. A complete retail countertop display with all 24 boxes, not the normal 20. All the boxes are full with one blade in each. W&B DE safety razors and blades were marketed and sold in the early 1900s. As a bonus it came with a wall poster promoting the blades. A rare discovery to find in NOS condition for being around 100 years old

Very cool. I love the poster. It would look great matted and framed. The blades must be thick. I wonder if one could hone them. Maybe that's how you get hundreds of shaves from one.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

10 cents a blade! Pricey back then.

I thought also it was a bit pricey.

The old style blades can and were honed easily. Here is a picture of a vintage Belgium coticule that would have been used for honing old style DE blades. I collect coticules and would love to have one like this

Interesting blades! I wonder if they would fit in one of the PAA Bakelite slants, eh?

Good question. They are thick and rigid with little flexibility unlike modern DE blades. Most likely would break plastic unless the shape was a perfect match

Very nice! I have a couple of boxes with new blades that I picked somewhere. I would love to have the whole display. Very cool.
