When I first started using a DE last year, one of my first purchases was a really nice '57 Gillette Superspeed. I quickly 'graduated' to other razors, with my favorites being an DE89 and a Merkur Mergress XL. Just for fun I decided to give the old SS a try since I had been neglecting it after really enjoying the EJ and Mergress. I was quickly reminded at how much fun, and how well this little razor shaves! Yes, it is very mild, and yes, it won't give to that ridiculous BBS shave that I get from my Mergress, however, it pretty much does live up to it's name of Superspeed, and it's no slouch! Everytime I use this razor i get a DFS, and always shave much faster that I do when I use my other razors. I usually shave the night before with the EJ and Mergress, because I get up at 5am for work, and don't want to be rushed in the morning, because when I rush, i get razor burn and cuts. I have since started shaving in the morning with the Superspeed on work days, and saving the other razors for my days off when I can take my time! If you have a Superspeed and haven't used it in a while, break it out and give it a try!
