Okay, so I traded for some of this a while ago, and after 3 or 4 shaves I was a little disappointed, given it's reputation on the boards...until today. I guess I must've broken through the decades-old soap 'crust' on my puck, because I had some of the most amazing, thick, protective, and beautiful lather today. Luxurious is the word that comes to mind. Not even comparable to any modern soap I've tried. That is all.

I do not have much of a tendency to dream, and if I do I rarely remember them. However, over the weekend I had a dream that my wife asked me to clean our library. (I guess my dreams mirror reality.) Anyway, in my dream I was dusting off the lower shelves and found a bunch of items that I attributed to a former roommate. I started putting the knick knacks into a box and, as I dug into the deep corner of the shelves, I pulled out a stack of NOS Yardley shave soap. I recall wondering if it belonged to the woman or if my wife had found some and was hiding it to give to me later. At that point in the dream I had a lucid moment and thought, "Am I dreaming about shaving soap?" and I woke up. As absurd as it sounds it is the honest truth. I told my wife the story and she, of course, rolled her eyes and exclaimed, "Not more soap!"

My concern is that this might become one of those recurring dreams/nightmares, so if someone has a bowl they want to sell I might be able to put it to rest.

I've not seen Yardley in the bowl go for less than $70 on a popular auction site. While I might consider paying such for English Fern (which I'm certain has retained its scent), I'm a bit squeamish paying that much for something that likely smells like...nothing due to age. FWIW, I was very relieved when my NOS Old Spice soap turned out to have retained its scent, and I paid much less for it than what Yardley goes for. Unless some shaving etailer enthusiast finds a missing case or three, I'll likely never experience a Yardley shave.
