This isn't really regarding a straight razor, more of a safety razor, but my question is about the strop, so I figured this would be the best place to ask. I recently purchased a Rolls razor. Eventually, I would like to use this razor. I've only just started shaving with a DE and haven't touched straights yet, so the worlds of strops and hones are completely foreign to me.
The razor set came with a tub of original Rolls strop compound. My question is... would this still be good to use? Or would it have "spoiled" by now? It says on the box to keep in a cool place and I obviously have no idea what temperature it's been kept at for the last 60+ years. If it's no good to use any more, what would you recommend using in its place? Thanks gents!
