Vintage slim showing some brass

Hello !
I have a Gillette slim that is showing some brass, this is barely noticeable however, apart from the cosmetic aspect (which I couldn't careless) I was wondering if should be worried. is it likely to rust or affect the shave ?

I really like razor and who like it to last me a life time.

Appreciate your opinions.

i have some razors with slight brassing, i use them and just dry them off and have never had a problem, one old oc gillette i have the head has no plating left, it does have a bit of a smell from the brass , but shaves ok.

Thanks a lot for all the good advices. I think i ll keep it as it is for now as i lik it's personality. (Btw i should have mentioned i live in the uk.)

Dave at Restored Razors is based in the UK and is a real craftsmen. He did a wonderful replate of a Slim for me, and I don't think I've ever seen a negative comment about his work.

Thanks CS and yes, brass can't rust as such but it will oxidise over time due to contact with acids in soap and even just moisture.

This is an extreme example:

I've been shaving with a vintage Slim for about 2 years. It was very affordable due to the multiple areas of brassing on the doors and base plate. I love it dearly, and probably shave with it about half the time -- maybe 15 shaves a month. To my eye, the exposed areas of brass have not increased in size or changed in appearance in the past 2 years. And in my hands, nothing shaves better.

I hate finding news in the wild like that. I mean, I am happy to find it, but I hate having to deal with the greenies in the teeth and the groove..

+1. Krona gets most of my stuff because it's cheaper to ship in the US, but if I was over there, ontoman would be the one. His reputation is very good.

Nothing a replate won't fix. I love having razors replated that have green on them, because I know I just added another century or so to their life.

I certainly understand that. Mine has some minor brassing on the handle grip thingy (not sure how to call them) but it s barealy noticeable. I got it for a decent price cased. (About 24£ shipped)
