Vintage Omega watches

Kind of a vague question, but being fairly new to the watch circuit, I'm really digging the vintage Omegas. I kick myself daily for having not picked up one that was for sale on here a few years ago. With that said, where do most of you guys find vintage watches like that? I have no idea what to look for in regards to condition/pricing on Ebay, and just wonder about the authenticity on Ebay in general. I don't see many pop up on here anymore for sale, and always prefer a trusted source to a general auction site or pawn shop.

Too many fakes on flea bay...best bet is to go to a trusted watch dealer. build a friendship/rapport with them. Watch Recon is a good forum. Ive bought many Dive watches and never had a problem with sellers. Most were under 500 bucks. Anything above that and I'd lean towards a local trusted dealer. Good Luck. Horology is a great hobby but can get out of hand as most hobbies can. LOL...Good Luck!!

Hi Crouse,

the seamaster handwinder I have I got from my father (but it was a "wreck" after a fishing accident in the late 60s :=) no crystal, movement not moving, visible corrosion on the dial...) - he kept it for some reason for about 40 years in this sad state.

I took it to a local watchmaker to restore - they took about 4 weeks and approx. 100 € to revive it.

It is still working fine and keeping good time - but I seldom wear it because I am a bit afraid to destroy it : =(

br,
T°M

I would look at Timezone or WatchUSeek sales posts. Most sellers on there are reputable. I've owned many vintage Omega pieces over the years. Here's one I have now... still runs great.
