Just got mine today, along with a gold slant and a Rooney 1/2 slant. Can't wait to try all three tomorrow.

BEAUTIFUL brush...I just recently picked up a 1/2 in Finest, with ebony handle from VB...best investment I've made to date, but MAN did it come with a hefty price, lol. All that aside, I think that yours looks freakin' AWESOME.

Ok - about the VB soap. I really like it. I just finished up a cake of Trumpers Sandalwood and the VB is even better. The VB soap has a lavender scent. The soap itself is wonderful and (I think) a bargain.
Bottom line; recommended.

I believe the soap may be the same as the T&H soap (which is also supposed to be the same as Culmak) - if this is true, then its one of the best all-veggie soaps out there.

Interesting - I have read elsewhere that this is a T&H soap.
My only small knock on this soap is that it's a little dry compared to the Trumpers - I end up soaking the brush with a bit more water, but it does reward me with a richer lather. The scent REALLY is nice.
So being a "veggie" soap makes this a non-tallow soap then. I have yet to try a tallow-based soap.
Even so - I'm happy.

I think I would have been happy with either a 1/1 or a 1/2. The 1/2 knot size is on the large side for me - definitely don't want anything bigger than a 24mm knot. I like the handle size and weight of the 1/2.

Been using the soap for more than a week (well - a couple of Musgo Real and Speick cream shaves in between) and really like the soap and scent. I believe I like this soap a little better than GFT sandalwood.
It's one of my favorites. An easy, simple, clean scent that makes it a go-to soap when I want to wear something else without interference for the rest of the day.
