I have heard a lot about Vie-Long horse and mixed hair brushes but very little on their silvertips. Can someone chime in? Pictures would be nice as always
The top of the line 16510 silvertip is a very high quality brush, extremely soft, but not as "flexing" as a Kent BK4,nice and dense as well.
I have this similar Vie-Long 2-band and it is one of my favorites.

I tried a Vie-Long horse hair brush and I hated it. Glad I tried one of their badger hair brushes.
This one @ 57mm....a real beauty and built to the highest standards..not much backbone, but more than Kent...
That sounds interesting... I have a similar Vie&Long brush (23x50mm. two bands) but in olive wood handle from a two years ago batch and I found it too firm&scrubby. But some people told me that the new two bands hair they are using this year is much better.
Could you provide me with more info about that brush please?
Cheers!
Are you refering to the 2-bandedMine is firm and scrubby and that is why I like it. Not harsh, but it feels like a brush on your face instead of a warm sponge.
Both of them are almost the same. The 3-band is slightly softer but still has some scritch.
+1
I got the 16510 with 57mm knot. Awesome handle... Silky soft when dry... BUT with some scritch when wet ... So not as smooth as a shavemac or a Thäter. Could not separate from it yet due to the gorgeous handle...
