What's new

Very Impressed

So I just bought my first pair of Allen Edmonds: the Park Avenue model in black. I am VERY impressed. In fact, I think I like them better than my Church's. The Church's are hand-me-downs that are almost as old as I am! I am sure these will last just as long.

I bought these at the Allen Edmonds store in New Orleans. It was a terrific experience. The salesman measured my feet (nobody does that anymore) and used a shoe fitting stool (http://www.specialtystoreservices.com/ProductImages/4560.jpg), something I hadn't seen in years. I am definitely going back!

Allen Edmonds makes fine shoes. I think you will be happy with your purchase. Put them in shoe trees. Rotate your shoes. Don't wear the same pair of shoes for two consecutive days. Keep them polished. With a little care they will last you a long time. Einjoy the Park Avenues, they are good looking shoes.

Excellent choice! The Park Ave is one excellent presentation, whether at work, social event, church or just dinner out. NICELY DONE!

I am buying them next week hopefully when the sale starts. How much did you get them for? Man they look great. I have Strands in the walnut color already.

BTW how often should you polish shoes like these? I don't know if I have the time to do it before every time I wear it.

New Orleans, you say?

Will stop in December... A block from the Hilton Riverside...

Actually, that's where I stayed!

It was the same price as online: $335. I had to get them now before I go back to France. I don't shine my shoes every time I wear them, just when it looks like they need a polish!

I wear my black Park Avenues to work 2-3 days a week. If I wasn't concerned that I would wreck them I would wear them everyday.

You made an excellent decision. I've had them for 4 or 5 years now and they look almost new. I plan on purchasing some Park Avenues in a shade of brown, just havent decided which shade yet.

Great shoes. I look for my shoes to be made in the USA, Italy or England as I find the workmanship best there. A quality pair of shoes will last forever when maintained properly.

Oh yep, good thing you grabbed them right away then!

By the way guys, from Monday their sale starts. Great price on the Fifth Avenue!!! Not sure what the price will be on the Park Avenue but I wish it's close to the Fifth Avenue price because they look great in this thread but if they are considerably more maybe I'll have to just get the Fifth Avenue.

Park Avenue is by far my favorite dress shoe. If you are ever looking at adding another dress shoe from Allen Edmonds, have a look at the Fifth Avenue.

I've got a pair of McTavish in natural waxed, and they are indeed very well-made shoes (especially for the price). I always get compliments when I wear them.
