VanDer Hagen GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Okay, so i just wanted to post this on here and give Van Der Hagen a big shout out!!! I (like most of you) really enjoy their soaps, and even as a starter their brushes. Well my brush started to shed really really really bad, so i thought i would shoot them an e-mail to see what they thought, or what they could do about it.. i also asked them for a smaple of their "Glycerin" based SS because i can't find it anywhere locally... Here is the e-mail i got in response....

"Hi Jason,

I apologize that you are having problems with the brush. It normally sheds some while breaking it in, but it should not be excessive. I am going to send you a badger brush to replace that brush. I think you will enjoy the badger, but should you have anymore problems let me know how much you paid for the brush and I will refund your money. Also we are enclosing a cake of glycerin for you to try. Normally we do not send out samples, but since we are shipping you a brush, we will ship you the glycerin to try. Thanks again for your email.

Have a great day!
Barbara"

Isn't that just awesome!!! Thanks VanDer Hagen Enterprises for being really COOL!! :001_cool:

You beat me to making this thread. This same exact thing happened to me just over a week ago. I got my badger brush from them and that thing is a beast. I happened to call and was told the exact same thing almost to the word. I was so impressed by VDH. It took my by surprise, and could hardly speak my address, thinking it was 'too good to be true'. The brush came in two days priority UPS with signature confirmation. I will say that, while the boar brush did shed excessively, I kept it to have as a traveler or maybe a restore down the line for a TGN knot. Glad to see VDH is consistent in their customer service. Kudos to them

I hope they stay in business a long time. I threw out one of the shedders without a second thought. I should have sent them a letter, oh well that was over 2 years ago. Let us know how the new brush works.

here is mine post bloom...
Not sure on hair quality or category but it is one SUPER SOFT brush!

yeah it's pretty nice. It kind of has become a go to for creams, just hogs lather a bit...so soft on the face and no smell at all from day one on. I have had it for a little over a week and it has probably shed 3 or 4 total hairs after about 5 shaves and this morning it didn't shed at all so I am hoping it's done. You will most likely get it really fast depending on your location, so you will have to keep us updated when you get the brush.

It's always nice to see companies in todays economic climate behaving this way. Well done VdH!

You'll note I list VdH among my preferred soaps in my signature. But for my 31 year old son, that's all he uses. He doesn't care for the "foo foo" scents in all the other stuff out there :)

Wow thats so commendable, I'm definitely recommending VDH premium sets for beginners. I don't know what all the hate is all about for the VDH brush. It's my first brush and I really like it. I dont feel the need to upgrade for any other reason than curiosity. Works well with bowl lathering and face lathering. Doesn't shed anymore since a few uses and doesnt smell bad.

I have a feeling that if the shave set cost $30 and soaps cost $5 a puck, they would have better reviews, granted they improve their brush handle, ofcourse :biggrin1:

very nice man let us know how there badger brush is i always wanted to try it

Okay so a little update on the VDH Badger brush. Yesturday i came home from work and there was a brown box sitting on my front steps!!!! Yessss!!!! So i opened it to find the brush (exactly like in the pictures about, identical) and a puck of their glycerin based SS.
I haven't used the SS yet ( i have been having such huge sucess from my mixture of VDH deluxe and Tea Tree oil check it out the progress here (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=145602&highlight=Tree)
But i did use the Badger shave brush, i have a Tweezerman Shave Brush and the hair quality is about the same, but the density of the hair is not at all, the bristle on the VDH are around 2 in long, and they are very very very soft, and it's not densly packed, so it if a very floppy brush.
But Hey it was FREEEEE.... i am glad to have it in the collection, will be a great travel brush since it is prolly better with creams.
Now i can't wait to try the SS :)
