I have found that it performs much better than the $5 price tag would lead you to believe. It may even knock some of your boutique soaps off their pedestal. Also, the Walgreens in your area may carry the VDH Deluxe soap instead of the Luxury. A good soap, however it's not what I'm talking about here.

I only have the unscented luxury version. Very slick soap. It does trend to dry a bit faster than some of my others. I think it will be my face lather travel soap.

Its become my travel soap as well. I was very surprised to get a soap that works as good for the price when I was first buying my wet shaving gear. Plus, I like the fact that you can get it at the big box stores in most areas, which is convenient if you forget to pack soap on a trip.

This was my first soap. It worked well for me, but lately the half-finished puck has been shelved in favor or DR Harris, Proraso, and RazoRock. I'll get back to it at some point.

I picked up my first puck of VDH luxury from my local brick and mortar shop, The Groom Room in Ames, IA. It's one of many soaps that they stock. It was really my first good soap. Up until then I had been using Williams and VDH Deluxe. Loved this stuff! I stocked up on a few pucks of the unscented when my local Target was selling out of it for $4/puck.

It's one of those where it's sorta just clean and soap like in scent, to me. lol Maybe this will help?

A very light clean laundry scent like clothes off a line in summer with hint of cucumber.

Not overpowering like some soaps or creams.

can you buy this stuff in canada we have no walgreen and walmart canada doesnt have it?

I might grab a puck of it some time if I see it, I HAD one but when I was first starting to wet shave again and as I recall I couldn't get a thing from it. But then again I was a bone head at lathering any thing that practically didn't lather itself lol, so I will give this soap another try...from what I recall it oddly looks like a pink urinal puck? Oh well, will try it again some day.

It really is great stuff. Not quite the value Arko is, but VDH Luxury smells better and offers better skin care. At my local Target it's $3.99. I have few if any soaps that are noticeably better, and most of them cost 3-5x as much.
