Just got this today, it comes with a cylindrical case. I don't know anything about vintage brush but the brush on this is hard and brittle. It says Made in England, no. 470. Should I re-knot this? It will be my first restoration.

If the hairs are brittle, and you want to use it, then yes, reknot is in order. If it is a display piece, then I would leave it.

Thanks. I plan on using it. Been looking at pictures of restored brushes and wants to try it myself.
