Vacation shaving

I just got back from spending a week in San Diego...Packed my Karve,Timeless, Greenfresh, and 2 custom Shavemacs for thetrip...Never even thought about water hardness as I am spoiled with soft water at home.

I usually use either canned gel or foam or shaving oil when I travel. It may not be as good as soap or cream and a brush, but it's plenty good enough to get the job done. Besides, I want more time to relax and do the things I went on vacation to do; I don't need perfect shaves for that.

If creams handle hard water or a variety of waters better than soaps, I suppose packing a tube of brushless cream would be a good idea. That way there'd be no worry about dealing with a damp brush either.
