V Sattui

Not sure how many of you are familiar with V. Sattui in Napa Valley. They have great wines and a beautiful winery.

It seems many here love a good port....you have to try V Sattui's Madeira. It is amazing.

From V. Sattui's website
Solera-made, wood-aged wine, fortified with brandy. Our Solera is over 120 years old, one of the oldest in the U.S. The wine is sweet and luscious with flavors of almonds, caramel, toffee and orange zest. It shares similar characteristics with a 20-year-old Tawny Port. A collector’s wine
.

Now you can only buy V. Sattui from the winery itself :thumbdown but if you can have it shipped to your door  or better yet go to the winery.

Anyone else enjoy this great drink?

I wrked in the Napa Valley 20 plus years ago when I was in grad school. My winery had a great Zin port. I don't know if they still make it. It was from Rutherford Hill.

Sattui is well situated near the southern end of the valley, just up from Carneros and Napa City, to be your deli stop when road tripping. I have several family members who love their sweet, unchallenging house syle, of which the port is the best example, but carries through their reds and whites as well. Fun place, and they ship.

V Sattui has a beautiful winery and grounds. Although I always felt like their tasting room and employees were a little pretentious.

I think we got lucky that it was raining, so they opened up the barrel room for those that wanted to drink and eat what they bought in the tasting room and deli there.
