Using Tub of Cream - Simple Question (from Newbie)

copied from Newbie corner to get expert opinions...

Ok, first time I have bought a tub of cream - TOBS St. James Collection. Love the smell and lather so far.

My main question - for a tub of cream like this, do most people dip the brush in and then lather, or take a dollop out and put on brush or in bowl? Or something else?

Thoughts and experiences...

I use a plastic spoon to scoop out a small amount directly into my bowl. I don't think it really matters how you do it, though. I suspect any method of getting the cream out of the tub and onto the brush/into the bowl is going to be okay!

I can't say that one method is better than another. That said, I scoop out a dollop with my finger and put it in my mug.

I've heard that dipping your brush in will work, but that in time water from the brush will dilute your cream. Don't know if this is true or not, but it was enough to keep me from trying it....

That's about how I do it. I use a wooden Popsicle stick (a clean one each time) to remove about two almonds worth of cream.

I don't like the idea of contaminating the entire bowl of shaving cream by using the brush directly in the cream, or my finger: I may one day want to sell the cream, or create samples from it for a newbie. :biggrin1:
