Has anyone had any success using a gel like the ones pictured below with a safety razor? I've tried once or twice but it never seemed to work for me

I've used shave gel with my DE's on occasion. It works but doesn't perform as well as a soap/cream lathered with a brush for me.
It works, but I find "proper" lather from soaps and creams to be a much more pleasant experience.
They work fine for me. I've also used shave oil and shave jelly (very much like the gels above) with a DE.
