Used some canned Barbasol for a touchup

Sitting here at the computer after a fair shave, I noticed a spot I missed pretty badly. I've been using soaps exclusively for about a month or so, but everything is cleaned up so I just grabbed a can of Barbasol. I worked ok, but man it is some thick and gooey stuff compared to soaps! Couldn't really get any feedback from the razor. Strange how different everything is after a month of different technique.

Yeah, I had a stint where i used Barbasol while traveling, it is pretty damn thick lol.

But I honestly think it is one of the healthier foams in the U.S. market. It keeps its consistency all the way 'til the end of the can and can go along ways. It would definitely be my choice if I had to resort to "common" consumer shaving products.

I use it for travel, or well now, I am in the hospital and a soap container and brush would be a pain to deal with. But I always get decent results from it. However, it does make me miss my den at home with my selection of excellent soaps.

Barbasol is the only canned shave cream Ill use.
I have a can inside of a ConAir Hot Lather dispenser, and it comes out a very nice warm lather.

The wife uses it on her legs. I also take it traveling with me. It does the job but would hate to use it all the time.

I love Barbasol and use their foam as a preshave often. I also enjoy their Aftershaves and Balms. If I had to go back to foam, it would be Barbasol.

Not to jack the thread but has anyone ever tried the red can Noxema with dimethicone? You Barbasol users should give it a try sometime. I think they make a travel can that is .99c. It has a less goopy consistency to me. My .02

+1 - I have used Barbasol a few times this year. My impression was that it provides great cushion, but little slickness compared to soaps.

In response to another Barbasol thread some months ago I played around with Barbasol. Running warm (not hot) water over the can to get warm lather and squirting a little into a bowl and applying it with my brush really enhanced the experience. It doesn't approach the experience of using real soaps, but it's not a bad way to go to use up the few cans I have had lying around since I switched lathering products.

I use Barbasol when I'm in a big hurry. That's rare these days but I would absolutely use it over any other foam or gel.

Can't stand Barbasol. Bought some after some of they hype on here. Terrible terrible stuff. Yea it's thick and consistent til the end but it is just bad - agree with other poster that it is not slick at all. Tonnes of nicks using it. If I had to pick one canned cream I'd go with Nivea. Pretty decent stuff for $4 at Walmart
