What's new

Used Aspen for the first time today.

I received this as one end of a trade from my friend Michiganlover. He also included a sample he had of Green Irish Tweed. I wanted to give my rundown on the scent Aspen, although it won't be great as I feel I did not wear it enough today.

I sprayed GIT on my left wrist and Aspen on my right. I will say right off the bat I do not like GIT as it seems very "thick." It's almost as if I'm inhaling a thick and rich vanilla scent, but instead of it smelling like vanilla it's a watery smell. It smells like the BOD spray another member sent me recently called "Ripped Abs" or something like that. Call me crazy, but I prefer the Ripped Abs  If you want to know what Ripped Abs smells like, it smells like AquaVelva Ice Sport. It's more of a body spray, but it's decent. Very "fresh," but for whatever reason I can't get into the aquatics.

On Aspen, it goes on somewhat similarly to GIT, but it has more green notes and a very obvious mint note. I loved that about it immediately. I will say that it is very similar to GIT, but it's like the brother or sister of GIT. It's the "green" version in my mind. It keeps these leafy notes throughout that make me prefer the scent although it would be cool if it kept that mint throughout. There isn't a lot I can say about it honestly, other than it reminds me of the smell of the outdoors around wintertime in Maine. This is a great clean scent, and I'd say it'd be worth getting. I have seen Sierra right near it at Walmart...could anyone tell me if that's minty?

As a final note, I did not make this post to diss GIT, but I simply think GIT is a super thick fragrance, and when I smell it it almost smells as if it has a consistency...weird, I know, but lots of aquatics do that to me.

Sprayed some on my wrist and will say I really wish that mint note stayed throughout. It's a good fragrance for its price, and the best in this kind I have smelled, but not QUITE where I'd like it. Still looking for that mint fragrance.

I have GIT and Aspen as well. I think GIT is a more refined fragrance and smells more natural to me. However I do prefer Aspen because GIT doesn't last long at all on me. Well none of the creed frags seem to last very long on me. Aspen is one that I will be buying again. My wife however loves GIT on me. Maybe her nose is better than mine. As always YMMV.

Haha...you are crazy. However, it is not because you don't like GIT. I am not a fan either. You are crazy because you think "BOD" is better then Aspen. I remember that stuff. That is okay though. Aspen is probably the best $11 fragrance you can get (on Amazon.....4oz. for around $11).

I think GIT is more natural in the dry down, but to me, it just doesn't smell that good. It smells as good as BOD to me, and I wouldn't wear BOD a lot either. These types of scents are iffy for me. I really want a minty scent, and the ones that have been recommended don't cut it (or are $200 )

I think you'll have a hard time finding a mint scent that lasts. Maybe get some peppermint EO? I have a bunch of mint growing in my yard, I usually rub a leaf and rub it on my upper lip and I smell mint for an hour or two tops

That's too bad. I think I'll just have to stick to Brut then. I like the spray version...it has mint for a decent amount of time, and stays fresh to me. Nice and green. Guess I have some Aspen if anyone wants some! :) I hate being so into fragrance

Thanks for the cool review Zach!! Aspen is one of my favorites, just a clean scent, that most would probably find non-offensive. Very work safe I would say.

I have heard that Creed recently increased the price of all of their fragrance line ($315 for a 4oz bottle; not sale price). At the $150 price it was before, I didn't think the differences between GIT, and Aspen justified the severe difference in cost. The $315 price places it far outside of my socioeconomic standing, and it's something I would never be able to buy.

So yeah, I still prefer Aspen to GIT; and GIT is basically a rip off at it's current outrageous price.

Amen

Predict and Michigan, I SO agree. I'm sorry, what about it makes it worth so much money? It probably costs dollars to produce! In fact, I bought a dollar store knock off of Coolwater, and it actually smells quite close to this stuff

Have you tried Cartier Roadster? Can't get much mintier than that. I think 3.3oz. bottle can be found online for under $50.

Never! I'll have to try to get to the closest Sephora (an hour or so away) sometimes and try out all of these scents that are more than $20 as I do not want to risk it

Just don't buy it there because I remember you said you were going through college and could not splurge the big bucks yet. If you like it, I bet you could even buy a tester bottle on ebay.

Kenzo Sport has Yuzu Mint in is also. They have it at Sephora as well. It is a very toned down mint though while Roadster is bitter mint and in your face.

Even if i do like it I'll go on ebay, I've gotten really good deals on there. I tried Sierra today and I like it more than Aspen, but I'm not going to be seeking out fragrances like this anymore...just not fitting for me. I'm sticking to spices.

I'm sticking to spices.

Have you tried Montana Red or Montana Black? (They are pretty much the same).

I think it is pretty safe to assume something like this is going to be better than blind buying Hummer. And it is only $17.

It is a good fragrance and does not smell like a cheap, sub $20 drug store scent like so many others in the price range. I have worn it many times. And I remembered you were saying you liked cinnamon and did not think of this until today when I saw my decant on my vanity. This might be the one you are looking for. It is pretty potent and a few sprays lats most of the day too.

Never heard of it, but it seems like there is not much spice cinnamon wise in this one? I'll have to look for it.

Are you seriously comparing Creed GIT to Aqua Velva Ice Sport?
