I received this as one end of a trade from my friend Michiganlover. He also included a sample he had of Green Irish Tweed. I wanted to give my rundown on the scent Aspen, although it won't be great as I feel I did not wear it enough today.
I sprayed GIT on my left wrist and Aspen on my right. I will say right off the bat I do not like GIT as it seems very "thick." It's almost as if I'm inhaling a thick and rich vanilla scent, but instead of it smelling like vanilla it's a watery smell. It smells like the BOD spray another member sent me recently called "Ripped Abs" or something like that. Call me crazy, but I prefer the Ripped Abs If you want to know what Ripped Abs smells like, it smells like AquaVelva Ice Sport. It's more of a body spray, but it's decent. Very "fresh," but for whatever reason I can't get into the aquatics.
On Aspen, it goes on somewhat similarly to GIT, but it has more green notes and a very obvious mint note. I loved that about it immediately. I will say that it is very similar to GIT, but it's like the brother or sister of GIT. It's the "green" version in my mind. It keeps these leafy notes throughout that make me prefer the scent although it would be cool if it kept that mint throughout. There isn't a lot I can say about it honestly, other than it reminds me of the smell of the outdoors around wintertime in Maine. This is a great clean scent, and I'd say it'd be worth getting. I have seen Sierra right near it at Walmart...could anyone tell me if that's minty?
As a final note, I did not make this post to diss GIT, but I simply think GIT is a super thick fragrance, and when I smell it it almost smells as if it has a consistency...weird, I know, but lots of aquatics do that to me.
