What's new

Used Arko for a while

I have tried the regular Arko stick after using the Proraso shaving cream....

The winner is Proraso of course! Very thick leather compared to the Arko stick.

No more Arko stick for me..

Is there something specific to the Arko stick, or do you not like soaps and/or shaving sticks in general?

I just had a great first experience with Arko a few days ago. I think it ranks above proraso for me. But as always... YMMV

Enjoy!

Proraso is nice but Arko blows it out of the water. Now if Proraso made a tallow soap, that would be heaven.

Not sure why the Arko stick is being compared to Proraso here. They are two completely different soaps and don't even have similarities to each other. Each have their advantages in my book but again they are completely different.

(whispering) it was proraso cream, and it makes really thick leather.

Sounds like a (general?) soap lathering issue to me!

Not being able to get a thick and creamy lather out of Arko has to do with technique and has for sure nothing to do with the soap itself.
At least in the same league here with Tabac/IM (and Speick/Palmolive/P.160 and what more) it is a very easy latherer but they don't go completely without effort like a lot of creams.

I have both Proraso & Arko in the rotation & like them both & will continue to keep both. But if one was to ask which is preferred? Arko. Without question or hesitation.

Well, it does not lather that much compared to the Proraso cream. And it has nothing to do with technique because I have also tried Arko cream (with lemon scent) that dit not lather good either. Proraso cream is definetely the best.....

Arko makes unbelievable lather for me when I face lather it with my stiff boar. My only beef with Arko is that whenever I use it, the smell makes me feel as if I'm shaving inside the bathroom at Dodger Stadium.

I get a great lather from ARKO, and I am clumsy
