Unusual straight razor

i spotted this for sale on a popular auction site(i've no interest in purchasing)and just wondered if anyone has used one or even seen a razor like this before,1st time i've came across something like this

It is a butterfly / double blade / "papillon" or "double lames" (in French) straight razor. The one you show here is a basic model, but over the years, I've seen some which are really nicely decorated. You'd have to be lucky to find one in good condition. I remember seeing two nice specimens displayed here on B&B, so if you search you should find them.

Never used one, but they show up periodically.

Yep, as said above, usually French, hence the Papillon (butterfly) name. That one has bone scales, and a couple I've seen pictures of have been nicely scrimshawed.
