FSOT Unusual Cased English Gillette #58 Razor Set - Excellent Condition - UK Sale

For your consideration is an unusual 1953/1954 Gillette #58 set. This razor is marked 'Patent Pending' which dates it to 1953/54 but this is not the usual 34g aluminium version, instead this is the rarer 68g nickel plated version. The later 1955 #58 set was produced exclusively in nickel plate and was marked with the patent number 694093 and not marked 'patent pending' as is the case with this earlier example. The razor is in really excellent condition with no plate loss or rubbing at all. The TTO mechanism is smooth and the doors open evenly and fully as they should. The case is solid and in reasonable condition with some minor exterior staining, the lining is good with some staining to the lid lining as shown. The blade bank is missing but is easily replaced. I am asking £100 Paypal G&S including insured delivery to a UK mailing address but I am happy to discuss postage to the EU, US, and rest of the world if there is interest. I am not an expert here but I believe I have described this razor correctly; if not then I am ready and happy to be corrected. Hi - many apologies but as luck would have it, at the time of your enquiry I was awaiting confirmation of firm commitment to purchase from another B&B member.
