Untouched Semogue Boar - how would you break it in?

Used daily for one week right out of the box.

Just a quick 5-10 min pre soak in warm water before each shave.

I’ve made about 10 lathers or so.

3 practice lathers and 7 daily shaves.

Thoughts:
It’s got a nice back bone and can handle a lot of soap well.

Contributes towards a great lather.

It’s not uncomfortable.
In fact I find it more comfortable already than the Simpson t3 synthetic.

I can easily get 3 passes with the brush. I couldn’t understand how others couldn’t.

I am able to get three lathers plus a St. Nicolas Beard.

I rinse it with luke warm water
squeeze out the water, give it a few strokes on a towel, then hang dry until the next shave.

I’ll give an update in a week.

I shaved a fortune
My modest collection of boar brushes came as a direct result of reading last year's (2021) DecemBOAR thread. I was all set, thinking I'd just stay with synthetic brushes until I started reading May Mistura Madness. That thread lead me to several others and a brush buying frenzy that ended with the purchase of a few SV 2.0 brushes.

So... I'm all ready for DecemBOAR month. It should be fun. Sometimes, I wished I was an every day shaver. I know I could change that fairly easily... just shave every day.... but at this point, it seems sort of unlikely. <eg>

three-tu-tu, three-tu-tu
I did the 3 day thing with my last new boar. I can't say it did big things for me, but some people find great success with that method.

The bottom line is: it just doesn't matter. You're going to end up in the same place some weeks down the road no matter what you do. If it was obnoxiously stiff you could do a test palm lather followed by a 48 hour dry as many times as you felt necessary. Most people just use them.

I've read the importance of the drying period too many times not to believe it.

Almost 20 shaves in with her.
I only pre soak about 5 minutes these days. She never goes in hot water.

The lathers have been great.
I load up good, get my three passes in (thanks to her, honestly).
She really is earning herself a comb, soon.

Very happy with the first three weeks.

Update coming next week…
