unknown possibly carborundum stone

Hello, I have a stone that is 4" x 2" x 1/2". please help ID

Looks like a carborundum to me. Soak in simple green for a day and find out for sure.

I agree. Carborundum or some sort of silicon carbide combo.

Yeah looks like a carbo/aloxite combo of some kind. Carborundum co had a couple. I forget the model number of the one I had that looked like that maybe 121 or 124? edit: 201 is what I was thinking of.

I bet that stone is awesome for knives and flattening other stones. I use my SiC stones a lot for flattening other stones or waking up the surface of arks. I use my india stones for the ones that are already flat..
