This is my first Japanese razor and wow, what a piece of steel. I set the bevel very quickly. Japanese steel seems to be of high quality. The razor sat on the stone easily.

Do the japaneese SR's like this have the same blade edge as a Kamisori? Or is it more like a western razor?

This one looks like a western grind.
Folding Kamisori typically have shorter blades and the blade shape has a je-ne-sais-quoi to it. Here are 2 examples
