Unidentified open ball-end Gillette New

Today's couple-of-quid eBay punt arrived. Before & after first cleanup:

It's one of those unusual open ball-ends:

Not a clue what it is - can't see it on Mr Razor's site. Can anyone help me identify it? It's an unusual case too.

Looks to me like a NEW head on one of these handles

The handle on mine is completely open at the ball end, whereas that one on Mr Razor's site goes in a bit before it has a smaller hole inside.

The case has a very similar decoration, but the catch is different and the pattern is actually subtly different too.

I'm sure the head and handle match - they both bear matching British patent numbers 352975-6 and 363892

It is! I'm really pleased that it's unlike my other open-comb Gillette (New Regent). It's great when a scabby-looking razor & tin turn out to be a bit of an enigma!

Your case is wrong (but very nice) for this razor. Some of the british NEW´s have this hollow ball end handle like this one (I must make better pictures next time ):

Is mine like that one, or is it supposed to be the same one?

Have you any idea what razor DID go with that case? Looks similar to the one mentioned earlier in the thread, but has a different catch, subtly different pattern etc.
