Understanding the Plisson Knot Size ?

Can someone break down the Plisson knot sizes into terms I can understand?.. i.e. Diameter and Loft.
And which size would be the most practical

It gives a chart on their website. A 20 is 28mm. An 18 is 26

I also just saw that their ivory brush prices have been drastically increased, like the size 20 (28 mm) is now about $2300.....without the VAT!!

And which size would be the most practical

That will largely come down to personal preference. I personally found size 16 in HMW to be the sweet spot for me. It's a good-size brush, without being too big, and isn't floppy. Even going up one size, to 18, threw everything off. It was a mop, and I never used it. It was great looking, but totally impractical for my needs. Size 16 is one of my two favorite brushes, and I've been happily using it for years.

I think this is a #18. Plenty big. Outstanding brush.
