UK supplier for filly strop or similar?

Hi,

I'm a complete noob to straights, I'm looking to get my first strop. It seems clear from all the posts here on this topic that the filly strop is far and away the best for starting out.

Just wondering if anybody supplies these in the UK? The strop is $20 the shipping is $14. It almost makes more sense to get a $45 strop if I'm paying $14 for shipping.

Or should I just get on with it and get one ordered, any thoughts?

$20 is cheap for a fully usable strop. $34 is still a good deal. so just pay the postage :001_smile or get the gold dollar and filly combo to get a bit more value from the postage.

Might as well get on board with the Klarion plan: two of everything! Two razors (one for first use, the second for continued us when the original dulls and needs honing). Two strops (a cheaper one to learn on and scratch up, a second one for more long-term).

That's actually what I did. At first, I was going to get the much more common Filly, but then Tony's store just happened to be open that day, so I pulled the plug.

You can buy great strops in England if you want to.

Neil Miller makes and sell good strops. He is a member on this forum.

Also Steve another English member sell probably the nicest looking strop I have seen.

On the strops from the USA, you also have to pay VAT and about £8 collection fees if you are really unlucky.
