Two shaves in with Vision

Having and loving the Futur, I took a chance on the Vision. The first thing I noticed is how different the blade gap is vs the Futur. I have shaved comfortably with the Futur set at 1.5 to 2. The equivalent setting on the Vision barley leaves any blade gap and did little in the way of beard reduction. I opened it up today to about the half way point and feel I could open it up a tad bit more to hopefully get the shave I am expecting from this beast. It's not a clumsy razor and feels good. Jury is still out on this one. A little more time will tell. Oh how I wish I could shave more than once a day.

I hear you. I've had trouble getting my head around the size and presence of the Futur. Honestly though, it shaves better than anything Ive tried. If the Vision is similar, it'll work great for you.

To get the same exposure on your Vision for #2 on your Futur you will need to go almost all the way open.

I find I set mine dead center and it works perfectly for me.

the hardest part is getting used to the handle. The balance is very nice but it sure ain't no classic Gillette in your hands, That's for sure

Once you get used to it, you will not want to go back to the small pencil sized handles ever again

Thanks Turtle. Glad to know its just not mine. I'm gonna give it time. I stay between two homes and have tried to set up differently at each. The variety is nice. But right now my Vision is not with me and I am looking forward to using it when i get the chance.

I would buy the Vision and a Futur if they were plated brass or SS. The pot metal just doesn't sit well with me. Too bad. They are pretty razors.

You may want to delve into some of the previous debates that have been posted here over this. I am no mechanical engineer, but some knowledgable folks have argued that the metal in the Merkur razors is not that much different from brass.

i don't know if that is true, but I decided that I would not let the type of metal stop me from trying these great razors and I am glad.
