A Shave Den that is! I recently posted my new Aqua Velva polar bear decanter and said I would post a side by side of that one and the similar Avon bottle from the same era. Here goes.
Avon's "Arctic King" was produced from 1976-1979. It is made from blue glass and the polar bear is plastic with a metallic finish. It came filled with Everest aftershave.
Aqua Velva's "Iceberg Decanter" was from the same era. I have verified through old newspapers that it was sold in 1977, but I don't know the exact range of production. It is made of clear glass with a plastic bear topper. It came filled with AV Ice Blue aftershave.
The topper on both bottles is a friction fit onto the actual screw cap. You can pull off the topper and then open the decanter, or you can just twist the topper and the cap will unscrew.
Which one do you like better?
