Last week, I met MYCarver as he lives about 10 minutes from me and I had a couple straights that I had absolutely no use for. He offered up a couple of the handles that he carved and I gladly accepted.
The first is a Chubby that I set a 24mm TGN finest with extra hair at right around 48mm. The brush itself is just slightly shorter than a Grosvenor and it is a lather monster.
Next is a dogwood handle in which I used a 20mm UK boar knot. I gave it a light coat of Mahogany stain and finished it with 4 coats of a Tung Oil / Mineral Spirits / Spar Varnish mixture. I only lathered it up once to start getting the funk out, but it has a real nice feel to it. Here it is hanging next to my Progress.
And here they are together.
They really are much nicer looking in person, please don't hold my horrible photography against me. I was just excited to show them off.
