I knew a kid in college whom everyone called Stan, but his name was actually Sakib and his parents came from Pakistan. Turns out that in freshman year his roommates started calling him "Pakistan the Man," which over time was shortened to Stan. By the time I met him a year later Stan was his established nickname. He's now 60 and his wife, friends, neighbors, and colleagues all call him Stan.
This right HERE is why I have a Man Crush on Antique Hoosier....
And he probably thought it was his watches, doggone!
