Two Inlay Projects

I see that there are a couple of folks doing inlay's. I have just finished two inlay projects and thought I might share them with you.

The first is a set of scales made from African Blackwood with a Abalone inlay of the users first initial.

The next one is a set of scales made from Buffalo Horn with two Amboyna inserts. The scales are also lined with 0.4mm Amboyna sheet I made on my table saw. The wedge is also made from Buffalo Horn.

Very nice profile on the scales. Excellent pin work on both razors. They make the job look professional. The burl used as liners is a pleasing and innovative idea and it looks regal in that combination. the inlay is a very good size for the scales and the division strip between the two adds significantly to the artistic flair. That set of scales would sit well on any blade. Now, if that pattern is on the opposite side, and the pattern matches exactly in mirror image, then, in addition to my compliments for looks, I'd also be very impressed. Oh yeah, and perfect wedge, too.

The burl liners are pure class!

Really. I'd most likely want to show off all that burly goodness outside, right where you can stare at it, but by putting it inside, it makes it elusive, and the contrast with the dark exterior is excellent.
