Twin British Aristocrat Razors

OK, Here i have a Nice pair of British Rhodium Aristocrat Razors. I got these a while ago and the story behind these are that they were owned by a Gillette Executive that Passed away, Also a member on here PM'd me and Told me that he had saw these razors at the Sellers Place of Pick up because he went there to pick up the Razors he bought from same seller i got mine from, Some where in Florida I think, it was over a year ago i got these so i cant remember who the Member was, Maybe he will show up to the party :001_smile

These both razors look the same, Except one weighed in at 74 grams and the other one at 72 grams, Also one has the "II" Symbol on the Right side and the other one on the left side, Was that a normal thing for same razor to have two different weights and also have the "II" Symbol stamped on either side of the Razor?

Also what Year were these made in ? What set do they belong to #66 #22 or #70 ? which set or is there no way of telling which set these came from like the American sets ?

OH MY GOD!!!! Razor PORN :scared:

Would you ever sell them? I Think they are either the #20 or #70 Because I have a #66 and it doesn't have the 69403 on it.

Is one head aluminum? I cant remember the II stamp meant shave aggressiveness, I think Im sure someone will chime in and point us in the right direction.

No not aluminum, II means aggressiveness, So this one would fall under Medium II

My guess is a pair of Aristocrat Deluxes (unless the Deluxes were only gold plated ??).... 1956 roughly. Just a quick guess. But I don't have any idea why the II stamp is flipped on the one compared to the other.

Okay, I think that the Deluxes were only gold plated..... but 1956 has got to be about the right time. That's right about when Gillette started putting the aggressiveness stamps on their Rockets isn't it?

Not sure about the stamps, but i think on the Red Tips they started putting the "+" symbols around 1957.

You may be right about the stamp with "II" symbol starting around 1956 )

Well, they are very nice and mysterious. Congratulations on them. They're kind of like the TOMAX and XAMOT of the shaving world (for any of you guys who played with G.I. Joe's in the mid-eighties)

Very nice set sir. Beautiful set of almost twins. Why the carpet pad as a base for the photos? Looks like an example of the CFM mystery man's setup.

But great set of rhodium plated razors!

Thanks jake, but most of those pics have that carpet set up, you can get it a Walmart, They have it in different colors. It's more like a pad to for you to put in your kitchen draws, for forks, knives, spoons etc. Also.can be used for your Craftsman or any Tool chest for padding in its draws so your tools wont slide all around the place. These pads are great for many things.
