Tweezerman vs Vulfix 404

Hello,

I can not decide between these two cheap brushes.

Tweezerman vs Vulfix 404

Tweezerman is pure badger and a bit softer than the Boar/Badger Vulfix 404 but both seems to have gotten good reviews. Both seems to be able to build up a good lather.

The cream I will use is Proraso (not ordered yet but seems to be again good bang for the buck)

Vulfix 404 = 8£ from http://www.diamondedgeltd.com
Tweezerman = 15£ from amazon.co.uk

I am located in Europe so based on these prices Vulfix seems to have a strong advantage.

Help me to decide, thanks lads!

The only brush that I have ever used is the Tweezerman pure badger. I find it adequate, but I do want something more. The tweezerman seems to do well for me on soaps like Tabac and QED as well as creams from Proraso to Trumper's to T&H. My tweezerman does shed a bit from time to time.

I have had the tweezerman and the vulfix 1000A. The tweezerman was just fine and hard to beat for the price. The vulfix 1000A is also very good but more expensive. I am not familiar with the vulfix 404. If they are the same price I would probably go with the vulfix, not that it is a better brush, just that they make there own brush and it would probably have a better resale value if you would want to upgrade and sell it at a later date. My vote would be for the Vulfix mixed; a decently made brush that might not be the best at anything but a great allrounder.

I am not a big fan of cheap badgers; usually a mix of floppy-flop and scratch-shed-scratch. At least my Tweezerman was and overall quality on the Vulfix is certainly better.

I have the Vulfix 403, which as far as I can tell is the same brush with a smaller knot.
I love mine, but it's the only brush I've ever owned. So have nothing to compare it to.
The 403 is, I think, a tad rough at first. Seems to have softened after the first year or so. The 20mm knot in my brush seems to me to be the perfect size for face lathering in the shower.
I've noticed 2, maybe 3 hairs per year loss.
