TV sitcom funniest moments

What are your favorites? There are so many specific greats from The Honeymooners, I Love Lucy and Mash that I can't pick any specific ones out so I will leave those for others. Here are my two:

Taxi: Jim's driving test (the written part is the real killer)

Just Shoot Me: Slow Donnie (this is more of a whole episode thing though)

This can lead to a funniest movie scenes too, but I think there is lots to explore here.

I've been seeing a lot of doctors recently, and whenever they ask that three minute long question- "any history of fainting, palpatations, dizzyness........... blackouts, nausea, lightheadedness, etc.", I always answer "doesn't everyone?" in honor of Rev. Jim.

One of my favorite scenes is on an episode of MASH. the camp is overrun with flies, and Hawkeye tells Frank to not move and hits Frank in the head with a rolled newspaper.

Frank: "Did you get it?"

Hawkeye: "Get what?"

Laugh hard everytime I see this.

The funniest sitcom moment that comes to mind is the first season of "Rescue Me". Here's how it goes:

Dennis Leary and a few fire fighters are doing a deck job on their day off. They are all sitting around while the rookie is doing all the work. The guy that they are doing the job for is a therapist. After the job, Dennis Leary keeps asking for advice on my he is still sleeping with his ex-wife. After a few days, Dennis Leary is drunk and knocks on the therapists door late at night wanting advice. The therapist responds by basically telling him to "get lost" and that he is not his therapist and that if he needed advise, he needed to set up an appointment. Dennis Leary gets mad, goes into the therapists back yard and tears down the deck.

Does anyone remember this episode? Funny stuff.

"As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly." - Mr. Carlson, WKRP

Big time plus 1! This immediately came to mind when I read the thread title.

"The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement!"

Game over.

There's this one episode of 3's Company, where Jack is going to a party on an island. He's nervous about flying so he takes some "pills" - then he drinks. At the party, he freaks out.. he tells one person he's a Brain Surgeon, and another that he's a Senator, then he does this dance routine, falls behind the bar, and comes up with a potted plant on his head.

John Ritter was a brilliant physical comedian.

still cracks me up.

As for Seinfeld, my favorite moment is "Hole in one.."

That's it. Lock the thread. The game is indeed over.

"I Love Lucy" - The Vitameatavegimin Skit

An episode of the old Abbott & Costello TV sitcom,,, 2 guys sit at a table and talk. That's it. An incredible 7+ sustained minutes of pure lightning-fast verbal comedy with one absurd situation leading into another. Fortunately it's on YT (at the moment) under the title, "The Mustard Sketch."

Love that episode. Have it on DVD. Love that show, it's quite literally my favorite. Denis Leary is hilarious.

There was a good scene the other day. Candy (the hooker who stole Lou's money) is back and Lou takes her back to his apartment. The place is a total pigsty, trash and everything everywhere. Lou says "Sorry the place is a mess I haven't cleaned in awhile....or like....ever!" He says he's going to clean up the bedroom so Candy can go to sleep and says "Give me about an hour". Then he comes back out, grabs a shovel, and says "better make that like an hour and a half".

Anything Three Stooges!

BTW, anyone hear they are doing a new movie about the Stooges?

Curly = Jim Carrey
Moe = Benecio del Torro
Larry = Sean Penn

Beverly Hillbillies - the "bigger than Uncle Jed's money" episodes. It was bigger alright, nearly worthless Confederate dollars. :001_tongu
