I typically order my shaving supplies to my dad's business and pay for it by working for him. Every time I would get anything in the mail, my brother would make fun of me for being so into shaving. One of my dad's mechanics however, was interested in this form of wet shaving, after hearing me talk about it. He used a fusion with your typical canned foam. He has such a thick beard, he would only get one use out of a cartridge before he felt significant pulling.
I gave him my old tweezerman and a tube of co bigelow. He immediately said it was better than the stuff in a can he was using.
I purchased a straight razor so I decided to lend my Merkur HD to him while I learned on the straight. The next day after using it he came running out to my car and said, "Amazing!" "Like a hot knife through butter!" He said after one stroke he called to his wife to get online immediately and order one. He said after the first shave, "I already enjoy shaving."
I now have a woman at work who borrowed my HD for her husband, and now he is on the way to discovering how good shaving can actually be.
I wish someone would get the word out, so more people would be aware of this type of shaving. A special on TV would be great, certainly longer than Greenberg's small story on the Today show.
I believe that almost everyone would transition back from their cartridge shaving to this method once they tried it. I am trying to make a difference one person at a time, and I hope everyone else attempts to do the same.
