Tubby2 handle replacement

Here is a report on the restoration of one of my favorite brushes (NewForest Tubby2) which had its handle damaged after falling on the floor. I immediately bought another one, but still wanted to re-use the knot, which I consider one of the best value for money on the market.

I used a vice to destroy the upper sides of the handle, and the knot extraction was quite easy (just used a screwdriver). After that, the two Italian artisans Voigt&Cop produced a beautiful handle in real horn, making the restored brush a great companion to my Wacker Chevalier.

I hope you enjoy the pics!

Beauty in it's simplicity. A polished piece of horn without any embellishments of the shape. It was painful looking at the broken handle until I saw the knot in the new handle.

Somewhat of an eye opener for me to see how deeply the glue plug was set in the original handle. It is nearly the height of the glue plug X2. When I set a knot, I guess I think more about what is left above the lip. Beautiful save!
