Trying to get off gel and into a good soap?

I switch to Double edge safety shaving and it has done wonders for my shaves. I use a Merkur 180/23c with a shark chrome blades..

I use Nivea extra sensitive shave gel "As I am very sensitive" while is does work somewhat is does not cool after or smell good. I also make my face feel dry or tight???

I tried the Proraso sensitive shave soap and it it did not help to smooth the shaving as well as the gel. But did smell and feel great after the shave but not any good other wise. I studied and try all the tricks to get more out of it but it seams not to want to leather very well for me no matter what I tried..

I am looking for a sensitive low cost shave soap under $20 a bar or tub that well finely let me kick the gel habit... Any help would be great

Any help would be great of great soap lords... :001_cool:

I would try Razorock Mentholipto if your face is sensitive. It lathers great and has a wonderful cooling sensation due to the menthol and eucalyptus

I totally relate. I'm in the same situation, but just a few months ahead. I've found that the tightness can be caused by my poor technique as much as the product. Make sure that your blade angle isn't getting too tight and scraping your skin.

Mystic Water sensitive skin soap is excellent!

+1

It is unscented though. It just smells like soap. Get a sample pack or 2 because MW scents are amazing. Lillies of the valley has been gentle on my sensitive skin.

Mitchell's Woolfat will do wonders for sensitive skin, I know from experience!

The other option is Mike's Natural Soaps - Unscented. Fantastic performance and skincare.
