Trying the Tabac Tomorrow

Got a sample from Garry's sample shop last week. Got some Tabac shavings I just mashed into an empty bowl. Will take it for a test drive along with the A/S. Heard a lot of good things about it.

If the scent of the shavings didn't turn you off already, lather wise you are in for a treat. I've never heard anyone say Tabac didn't perform great for them, it's generally just a matter of liking/not liking it's unique scent. Personally, I love my Tabac, it was my go to soap this morning, even.

Put some disco on, grab your best wide collar polyester leisure suit, and get ready for a 1970s-riffic experience!

All joking aside, love the Tabac. You're in for a treat.

Rat I actually liked it. Been looking for something besides the Proraso. I mean Arko is ok. Got TOBS sandalwood too w that order. Really liked it too

Bow chicka wow wow....

Tabac is my "desert island" soap, if I could only take one it would be Tabac... or MWF... or Mike's Barbershop... or Savon du Midi Garcon... Anyway the point I was trying to make is if you like the scent, which to me is fantastic, you will love Tabac!

I cannot agree more with what has been said. I like to apply a nice and thick coat of water saturated Tabac lather before starting to shave. It always amazes me that no matter how much I plaster my face with the stuff, it is still nice and slick. On my last shave with it, I managed to saturate it so much that the lather and stubble residue dropped off my straight, this however did nothing to diminish the protective properties of the lather. It really is a stellar performer and IMO the scent is divine. I cannot wait for this evening's shave.

Tabac: it's the cheese fondue of shaving!!!

mmmmmmm cheese

We want Tabac lather pics please to feed our addiction!!

let me get my lather right!

Loved the first shave with the Tabac. Still need to work on the right amount of water, but it worked nicely and the smell is good. SWMBO didn't say anything, but who knows... This could easily end up in the rotation

I love the Tabac as well. Scent is so neutral I'm surprised some people feel so strongly against it. Anyway, if you have the TOBS cream, you can combine it with Tabac soap to produce a wonderful superlather/uberlather. Enjoy

I'm trying to think of what Cologne or a/s, besides theirs, would work with it. I've got Polo black and Floyd black. Maybe those would be a nice complement to the Bac

One of my desert island products as well. Right from my first usage it's been a top performer for me, normally on a new soap it can take a couple of usages for me to get the water/soap ratio correct. The scent is fantastic as well, the girl friend smelled it when I first got it and said: "ohh that's manly, I like it." Naturally I then I had to get another puck, shaving stick and AS. :001_wub:

Good man!

I tried Tabac for the first time last week, the lather was great, but that smell...it's just so strong! Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the scent, there's just WAY too much of it!
