Tried Tabac for the first time

I spent the last week using a sample of AOS Sandlewood that I purchased in the BST from Xesmer(thanks). The AOS is outstanding. It was my first Tallow triple milled and I was sold immediately. I understand that it is expensive, however, I could tell right away that it was a quality product. It gave me a smooth, soft and effortless shave. The little bit in my sampler lasted 5 or 6 shaves which was much more then I anticipated. The scent was excellent as well, I enjoyed catching a whiff of it randomly during the day.

Today, I tossed some Tabac from my sampler into the bowl. It loaded very quick, maybe 15 seconds on the soap and a full rich creamy lather was made. Tossed it on my face and it felt good, really smooth with the blade. It felt almost soft and fluffy and my razor just glided along. Reading the reviews, I would have to say I'm in the majority with the people who say Tabac maybe the cheapest, but it's a great product. As for the scent, the hit or miss, live or die, love or hate scent. I loved it. I'm enjoying it now when I rub my head I'm sure to drag my fingers across the front of my face so I can smell it. To me the scent is a spicy scent that you know is there but does not intrude on you. It's pleasant, just doing its thing, but then out of left field I'd catch a strong whiff of tobacco. Unmistakable, and it would come and go before I had a chance to really grab hold of it and get a long snort. It was like a tease and throughout the day I was looking forward to trying to catch it as it would come, and go just as fast.

I'm looking forward to using this for the week, and am planning on getting some.

Welcome to the team! I am a big Tabac fan and find that it is one of the easiest-to-use soaps around. Enjoy the rest of your sample and please keep up posted.

I just got my first puck of Tabac this week.

So far, after 3 shaves I can only say this is a wonderful product. Both from a shaving standpoint, and from a scent standpoint. The only soaps I've used that come close in shaving performance are some of the Prairie Creations soaps I've used.

I would recommend this to anyone who had never tried it.

I really like Tabac as well. I found that it gave me a great shave, with no irritation. I also happen to really like the scent; very masculine and down to earth.

As you mentioned either you love it or hate it, for me Tabac is pure love, and SWMBO actually likes it too believe it or not!

I think it may one of the better valued soaps out there. It is so easy to use and lasts forever. Not to mention it isn't too expensive.

I tried it this week for the first time. I am having a little trouble making a lather with it... mine comes out very creamy and almost a mayonaise consistancy. Maybe I am just not used to Tallow soap.

I'm on my second consecutive week of using Tabac soap. At first the smell was kinda rough, but it's now mellowed out (or I'm getting used to it). My corner of the bathroom has a nice smell to it when I head to the closet. Great lather and the scent lingers for most of my workday.

Love this stuff.

what can I add that hasn't already been said. Welcome to flavor country. It's good stuff and considering the price and durability, excellent stuff really.
